Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor, producer and director. Her work has been recognized for her roles in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including an Oscar for the movie Piano. In her early years, the accomplished actress began performing on stage in various Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. She has had a passion for acting ever since when she was in the school. Her debut role in a production in fifth grade was as Helen Keller. The fifth grade was the year that after having mumps she lost hearing in the left ear. But she didn't let it stop her from performing. The college she attended was drama after which she moved to Pittsburgh and moved to New York City to follow her dreams. Hunter was introduced to Beth Henley by chance in the lift. Together they composed Broadway Crimes of the Heart. The play was Hunter's first acting debut. Her first film role came when she moved from Los Angeles. Holly Hunter has been in numerous films, TV series and films over the course of a 30 year career. Holly Hunter won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and also her Women in Film Lucy Award.
